All About Me

In my current role as an Early Years Practitioner in a Preschool, I hand out forms to new parents and carers so that they can fill in details on their child's behalf about their likes, dislikes and general abilities. We call this form the 'All About Me'. So what better place to start than for me to fill in my very own 'All About Me' form for you, the reader!

Name? Sarah Amos

Date of Birth? Hmm, that's for me to know and you to wonder about ;)

Family? I have a fantastic husband and two wonderful children.....can you tell I am a bit biased?

Pets? We have a rescue cat called Rita and she is (we think!) about 2 years old.

Favourite food? Do you have all day?

Favourite drink? That would very much depend on my mood. Tea, coffee, water and the odd glass of something stronger!

Hobbies? I'm a fair-weather runner (I recently completed my first half marathon) - I'm not a fan of sport in the cold, the wind or the rain. My biggest passion hobbies-wise is travel. I'm not a jet-setter, I like nothing more than throwing on a backpack and heading off into the wilderness with my Lonely Planet in hand. The more obscure the destination the better! I have a list on my fridge of places that I intend to visit before I depart this life, although I'm not actually sure that I have enough years left to get through half of it!!

What interests you? Lots of things interest me. I try to be a bit of a sponge and soak up as much information about things as I can. My view is that we are only here once so we might as well try and get as much out of life as possible. If I had to sum up my main interests in a nutshell I would say: My family, my friends, and making a difference to other's lives.

Why are you writing this blog? Good question! I am writing this blog so that other prospective Counselling students can come along with me for the journey. I am only 5 weeks in to the first level of study, and chances are I have at least 4 YEARS in total to go before I become a qualified practicing Counsellor. I hope that over the years I can inspire others to take the plunge and take their first tentative steps in to the world of Counselling and Psychotherapy. It might sound cheesy, but I really believe that we can make a difference and we can help others to achieve more than they ever thought possible. AND, it's never too late to start.

Join me on my journey
